| things i am currently obsessed with | Tweet |

(1) my new bike. i’ve been riding it all over town, waving to strangers as the wind zooms through the little aerodynamic holes in my helmet. that’s right I WEAR A HELMET WHEN BIKING IN THE CITY SO AS NOT TO INJURE MY BRAINS.
(2) mad men. just finished season two, about to start part trois, which is sure to be filled with even more repressed sexuality and gender inequality!! also i know everybody thinks don draper is so sexxy but i’m like yo KEN COSGROVE what up boo.
(3) kristen wiig. do i even need to justify this??
(4) taking notes on legal pads and DOMINATING THE SHIT OUT OF ABLETON LIVE (a program i use to run my live show and sample stuff). i’m accumulating a legitimate STACK OF NOTES in my lil studio and it makes me feel like i’m back in school, listening to one of my anthro professors explain what a palimpsest is while secretly wondering if a palimpsest is actually some kind of flesh-eating zit.

(5) and finally, this video. sooo many reasons why this continually blows my mind. i’d love to hear your thoughts..

Hey, would you do a blog post about how you go about making a track? You said here you just use Ableton for live performances and sampling, but what do you use for the actual production? It’s always interesting to see how different artists go about writing…
Dude….that video is great…my friend posted it on her facebook a few months ago and I found it to be quite amazing. It’s still a little something to put a smile on my face if I’m having a bad day. Ha! Oh and Kristen Wiig….abso-fuckin-lutely dude….
For reals! I was just talking to my friend about Kristin Wiig last night whilst watching Adventureland. She’s great. Good call. And kudos on the wearing of the helmet. To all you non-helmet-wearing dare devils out there: think about the consistency of warm butter, that is your brain. It’s no match for concrete.
yeah, ableton live is the shit! i just find it very hard to make a whole song to peform it live and still to be able to make it different every time. i mean, you could just use it like a playback song, but do you use scenes or use it to play various instruments with it via your mpk25? and i always wondered if you create your synths used in ur songs in live or in reason and where you get all the dope drum samples from?
ohh and by the way if this video blows your mind, this one is also very funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysbmDqAPLFo
so wholemilk and lars you have inspired me. next week i’m gonna post a video with a bunch of beat making shizz…
oh HELLS YEAH! My main problem is that I can’t overcome the delay from my mpd32 to my computer. it throws me off so much that I went back to programming all my beatsesss. I look forward to it!
@ K.FLAY: Can’t wait to see the video!! Thanks!
@wholemilk: the delay issue can probably be fixed if you go to the the preferences menu and go to audio and there you can adjust the buffer size in the latency category. just try some different settings till you find the right one!
I want to watch that video every day.
This is…. The epitome of awkward. Amazing.
+10 Cool Points if you write a song about Ken Cosgrove. Although, I hope you weren’t disappointed by the lack of him in S3.
ableton is the shit!
I finally have a working computer again and I’m diving back into that program. Just learned how to make the dubstep wobble using the operator instrument… very excited. I’m thinkin about getting an APC40 too.
Love the music, please keep it coming.
yo quick question what kind of equipment do you use kflay thats hooked up to ur laptop?? jw thanks
Hey! I simply wish to give a huge thumbs up for the good information you will have here on this post. I will be coming again to your blog for more soon.Ft/<3 diet pills that work quick xxU@n
I really like your blog and there are some interesting points made. There are so many sites out there which are badly presented that it’s a pleasant suprise to find a good one.
